Join this panel as they share their ideas on what the next 5-10 years might look like for the care sector. They will discuss some of the sectors current hot topics including the role of technology, funding and collaboration opportunities.

11.30am – 12.00pm: An Outstanding Mindset – The difference that makes the difference
Jermaine will use a blend of psychology, ‘The FISH philosophy’, fun and his personal experience as a relative of a Hallmark resident to empower attendees in this seminar. In a thoroughly enjoyable and interactive session he covers a range of topics that increase morale, productivity wellbeing and more. The session has an emphasis on feeling happy, motivated, reducing stress and increasing resilience. It is training that makes a real difference to both the individual and team as a whole. Dr Jane Townson
Dr Jane Townson’s Bio
Jane is the CEO of the Homecare Association. She is an experienced CEO, Chairman and leader of a range of businesses in regulated industries from social and health care to housing, and from food production to medical screening, that meet some of the most fundamental human needs. She has extensive experience in the not-for-profit and for-profit social care, health and housing sectors, including homecare, housing with care, supported living, care homes, training, and the NHS. Formerly CEO Somerset Care Group; Chairman YourLife (JV with McCarthy & Stone); and Vice Chairman UKHCA. Jane’s first career was in international leadership roles in research and development in ICI, AstraZeneca and Syngenta, where she was Global Head of Bioscience Research. She then established her own business providing consultancy and training on the link between nutrition and other lifestyle factors and health, working with private individuals and local authorities in the field of public health.

Mark Topps
Mark Topps Bio
Mark is a passionate and multi award winning social care leader who has worked in the care industry since 2004 and is currently working as a Regional Support Manager. Mark can be found regularly advocating, appearing on television, radio and podcasts and has started numerous high profile campaigns which have been debated in parliament and across the world and have a combined petition signature list of over 1.7million creating a change in legislation and culture within the industry. Mark is also the Social Media & Marketing Director at NACAS (National Association of Care and Support Workers) and to co-founder of ‘The Caring View’ YouTube social care show and ‘The Health and Social Care Club’ on the Clubhouse app. Both air live weekly to increase the positive image of social care and to build a support network for those working within the social care sector.

Vicky Poole
Vicky Poole’s Bio
Vicky Poole is a Deputy Chief Inspector with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW), having joined the Welsh Government in 2014 as CSSIW’s Regional Director for north Wales.
Vicky began her career as a mental health nurse from where she moved to work in social services first in Leeds before moving to north Wales in 1990. Vicky has held a number of roles in health and social care services including as a care home manager local authority strategic planning manager, regional commissioning manager and national improvement role with WLGA.
Originally from Stoke on Trent, Vicky lives with her partner in Denbigh.
