apetito's Purée Petite range (3)apetitio has been shortlisted for The Innovation Award for the 2016 Lloyds Bank National Business Awards. apetito are the ‘UK’s leading creator and supplier of meals for the health and social care sector.’ It is said that the company makes a real difference, allowing people to eat for health whether they are at home, in hospital or in care.

The lucky finalists were chosen from the huge amount of business that entered or were nominated across the 18 different award categories. They will now prepare for live presentations to an expert judging panel who will decide the overall winners.

Paul Freeston, Chief Executive apetito UK said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for The Innovation Award. All of us at apetito are passionate about making a real difference to people’s lives and believe that our new softer foods range is the very best of its type across the world, showcasing real innovation. We developed our range of meals to help the thousands of people who struggle with dysphagia, difficulty chewing and swallowing, which means eating becomes an emotional issue as well as a medical condition. We believe our range of texture modified meals improves their day to day quality of life, allowing them to dine with dignity whilst increasing nutritional intake. Most importantly, the range has bought back enjoyment to people’s mealtimes.”

Described as “the Oscars of great British business” by David Cameron, former Prime Minister, this year’s prestigious award ceremony will take place on Tuesday 15th November, at the Grosvenor House, Park Lane, where the winners will be revealed.

Tom Broughton, Group Brand Director of the Lloyds Bank National Business Awards said: “Due to the high number of entries for this years’ awards, narrowing the entries down to 140 finalists was a difficult task. But through a thorough and comprehensive judging process, the selected finalists demonstrate exceptional quality and diversity across a range of business sectors within the UK. We are now looking forward to the next step of the process and meeting some of the finalists face-to-face.”
