In this seminar, the increasing importance of demonstrating good leadership within services will be explored. Regulators are focussing more and more on ‘leadership’ and ‘management’ as key themes to assess the quality of services and it is envisaged that this will only increase over time as there is a wider reliance on self-assessment. This seminar will help you understand the importance of leadership, how evidence can be provided to show effective leadership and the challenges of embedding the culture of leadership in the challenging environment that we work in. In addition, the interchangeable use of the words ‘leadership’ and ‘management’ and what it means to be a ‘well- led’ service will be explored and examples are given to help you widen your understanding and what is expected of you by the regulator.
