What went on at Care Roadshow Liverpool 2015?

Care Roadshow Liverpool 2015 took place at Aintree Racecourse on the 9th June. The show hosted a range of exhibitors supplying products and services for the care sector, the full list of exhibitors can be found below.

This seminar will address how to make a difference to the experience of people with dementia who live in care homes. The three themes of the seminar are:

1) Developing staff awareness of the needs of people with dementia
2) Developing a life engagement approach to living with dementia
3) What a dementia friendly environment looks like

The seminar is based on the work of the Salford Institute for Dementia, which has been guided by people living with dementia and their careers. The seminar will also include an overview of international best practice in making a difference to the experience of living well with dementia.

TSYMCO Chef and Managing Director, Mark Earnden will be delivering three fresh, lively and innovative food demonstrations during the event which will highlight simple methods, flavours and concepts which can be adapted to provide a revolutionary dining experience for residents.

Flavour – We often face the challenge to reignite resident’s appetites. This demonstration challenges the norm. Mark will take you through some creative food combinations and flavours that have proved a huge success with our client’s residents.

11.05 – 11.25am
Lighter meal options – Our clients often find this a challenge. This demonstration will show easy to prepare, nutritional and tasty alternatives to sandwiches and other lighter food options.

1.30 - 1.50pm
Hydration –As a chef specialising in the care sector, Mark is only too aware of this well documented and topical issue faced by care homes. Mark will create nourishing, and innovative drinks, which are nutritional, packed with flavour and most of all encourages residents to drink more.
