The workshop will include an overview of Skills for Care qualifications, products, and resources which can support social care employers when they are looking at the further development of their workforce. At the end of the workshop, Skills for Care aim to ensure attendees have a clear understanding of support available to them, and ideas and suggestions as to how they can improve workforce development in their own workplace.

 | Residential care homes and nursing homes in the UK have diverse populations. From dementia to arthritis, depression to osteoporosis, regular exercise can provide huge benefits. In some cases exercise does not just improve but rather transform the lives of the residents. Before we demonstrate a fun chair based exercise class to the workshop (where everybody will be encouraged to take part!) we will discuss both the physiological and psychological benefits of exercise for the elderly, and what impact it can have. Each of the three workshops will be around twenty minutes long.
