Sensory Loss: A Hidden Disability
Nicola Venus-Balgobin, Project Manager, Sense for Deafblind People

Identifying and appropriately supporting people with sensory loss can be a challenge for managers and staff. If a resident finds it difficult to take part in activities or communicate with staff and other residents, they may feel isolated and removed from the community life of the home.

Join us for an interactive and practical workshop, grounded in the wider legislative framework, which will give participants the knowledge and skills needed to ensure best practice for older people with dual sensory loss. Attendees will leave this workshop with tools to improve the accessibility of their communication, activity planning and care home environment.
