In some cases exercise does not just improve but rather transform the lives of the residents. Before we demonstrate a fun chair based exercise class to the workshop (where everybody will be encouraged to take part!) we will discuss both the physiological and psychological benefits of exercise for the elderly, and what impact it can have.

Germstar UK is pioneering the use of Touchless Hand Sanitiser and Soap Dispensers as a key weapon in vital care home infection control programmes.
Infection control guidelines covering care homes say the use of alcohol hand rub is particularly important and this should be easily accessible to staff where direct care is being provided to residents.
Germstar’s touchless device, designed for constant use, eliminates the dispenser as a potential for cross-contamination. The hospital-grade rinse works against Norovirus, gastroenteritis, E Coli, salmonella, MRSA and just about every other germ that threatens the health of carers and residents. It incorporates a natural moisturiser which prevents ‘alcohol dryness’.
Because thorough routine hand-washing is also essential for complete hygiene, Germstar has also developed an extra mild soap solution, also dispensed via the touchless system. The soap provides a gentle, refreshing wash that’s easy on the hands of care home staff who have to follow a frequent hand washing procedure.
